    When you are photographing a wedding and your on the dance floor all you really need is 24-35 but I would like a 20-35 that would be better for the dance floor. Most dance floors are small and there are so many people trying to dance in a small area you need wide lens. Only one place I want to had a huge dance floor and that was the Omni Parker House in Boston Massachusetts. That dance floor was more like a ballroom you see in the movies.

    Since 2004 I’ve used a ‘holy trinity’ of 10-22mm, 24-70mm, 70mm-200mm on APS-C bodies for portraits and PJ style coverage of stories with a ‘cinematic’ formula approach of: wide establishing shot; medium shots to places ‘actors’ in scene context; close-ups of the action, and; ‘over the shoulder ‘cutaway’ transitions which show the scene and action from the POV of the actor. Last year when moving to where I have Heron, Egrets and Ospreys within shooting distance of my back deck I bought an R6MkII, RF 100-500mm and RF 800mm f/11. Had the 200-800mm been available at the time I decided to add reach with the 800mm I might have consider it, but after using the 100-500mm as my “walking around” lens for bird and small animals I would choose it over the 200-800mm because 200mm is too long for many shots where background is desired for context or framing of the subject with negative space. What I did to increase my flexibility (and balance) when out shooting was to buy a second R6mkII body when the price dropped $500 to $1999. The RF 100-500mm stays on one of them most of the time, suspended on my right hip via Kirk foot and QD strap swivel with the second body with either the RF 800mm with Kirk foot and QD swivel or one of my older EF lenses mounted on a Meike VND EF-RF adapter which allows me to shoot wide aperture stills or CLOG ISO 800 video. I put Small Rig cages on both bodies which have a socket for the QD swivel so I can carry the two camera with long straps X crossed across the shoulder with QD swivel attached to the foot of the longer lenses and base of cage for the shorter EF lenses. I used the same two body approach back when I did PJ work with a pair of Nikon F bodies with 35mm and 85mm and found it much easier than trying to swap lenses and more balanced and less fatiguing to carry two on opposite side vs. one on my right hip

    Not sure I'd recommend to anyone to start a subscription to FCiPad only to use this feature as Capcut would be more than enough. But your demonstration of the dual camera shoot with one shot above and the other the iPad itself will probably help a lot of people who were looking to do something similar with other software to capture than PiP-type of shot. And for those who watch and just want to use both clips together, copy+paste two multicam shots and then select different feeds. Adjust the PiP as needed! Good review on what's available so far on the iPad/Phone!

    I love editing in FCP on iPad for what it CAN do, but unfortunately it’s still LumaFusion for me as an (almost) one stop shop. FCP is just missing too many basic features: Stabilisation, custom LUT imports, speed ramping, are the main ones for me. Your images/footage can be repeated with non-GS cameras. Hence calling the A9III a game changer is hyperbole. What the A9III does is improve your chances of getting a better shot with little to no additional effort. That's game improving, not game changing. And because you lose half (or more) the pixels compared to the a1 or the A7rV, it's actually a trade off. Game changing is when we went from film to digital or manual focus to autofocus. Those really changed the way we did photography.

    • @btonelli

      Having a global shutter in a camera like this is a defining moment for photography. We only saw this before with a cinema camera. Being able to capture subjects at any speed, video at any frame rate without warping or rolling shutter is something we haven’t seen before.

    • @sandb1867
      @sandb1867 3 дні тому

      @@btonelli Oh yes we have and it's called the Contax N, which used a full frame CCD global shutter (although it wasn't called that at the time) and it was announced in 2000! There are several GS cameras, including ones faster than the A9III (e.g., 1M FPS), just not in a form factor of a consumer camera. Lay off of the Sony marketing gaga and hyperbole, do your research and firmly establish yourself as a credible reviewer.

    • @btonelli
      @btonelli 3 дні тому

      @@sandb1867 so again let’s go back to what this is about. You are highlighting cameras that aren’t consumer. I never said this is the first global shutter camera, but it is for this form factor and for photography in this way. The Contax N was not considered a global shutter camera. Sorry you can say the technology may be this or that, but if it was it would have been talked about. This isn’t a Sony is the best etc it’s just stating this is the first of its kind for a camera like this.

    • @sandb1867
      @sandb1867 3 дні тому

      @@btonelli Uh, the Contax N was a global shutter camera, in a consumer style camera body. It did exactly what you'd expect from a global shutter: capture light from all photo sites simultaneously. Absolutely no rolling shutter effect. It had no need to call itself GS because it wasn't considered a problem back then. If you don't understand technology, don't bother doing reviews! LOL!

    • @btonelli
      @btonelli 3 дні тому

      The only reference to the Contax N being “global shutter” is the FujiXweekly article with no notation of official sources. Outside of that I don’t find any info on the web to support your “global shutter” statement. If you have please share. I still stand by that this camera does things no other consumer camera does due to the global shutter. Were there others before yes. Is this the first no, but no camera does what this does for photos and video in one system.

    In my modest opinion, Nikon should have increased the resolution of the Z6 III to at least 37-40 MP like the D810 sensor, -magnificent camera that I still use with pleasure and confidence-, another success is the rotating screen that allows versatility fabulous framing. Thus the Z6 III would be the almost perfect camera. Thank you for such a pleasant and illustrative report.

    While I agree with most of the feedback on Sony’s lack luster firmware updates I still got a great camera two years in advance of a competitive product from Nikon and even though I bought a Z9 I did not get a smaller, easier to travel with stacked sensor body till the Z8 and that’s still not that small. Only now are we getting any competitor with. 50 Mpixel sensor that can do 30 fps in RAW. I’ve had that since early in 2021.

      Not discrediting Sony in any way. I have used their cameras and enjoy the performance and technology behind them. However they do seem to alleviate features for pro users that would be beneficial for less expensive consumer cameras and some of those features could be given in firmware updates.

Photography is not about the technical aspects that you need for the photo. Sometimes she just wanna own something so you can use it and create beautiful things is that necessarily a bad thing? Probably not so long as you can afford it. It's probably way beyond the spec that anyone needs. I have been using the GFX 50s ii I have loved it but the autofocus being terribly slow made it difficult to do anything beyond product and landscape photography which I do a lot of but I also want to do some portraits and bits and pieces with it as well so this is led to me to the new model, but last year model was just too expensive.

      I think for video and the price point this is its biggest competition. Lumix has open gate but no CF Express so will need an external drive to maximise some of higher quality video formats. Z6III most of the high end codecs people want but no open gate. For photography the Z6III will win for read out speed on the sensor and more versatility. Build quality goes to Nikon. AF Nikon is a clear winner. Price point is very attractive for Lumix though
